As part of its continuing expansion of the Department of Management Science and Innovation, University College London (UCL) seeks to appoint a committed, dynamic and self-motivated person to a faculty position in the Department. Academic rank is open. The anticipated start is 1 September 2009.

UCL is one of the foremost research and teaching institutions in the world and is the flagship campus of the University of London. Of the top 200 universities in the world, UCL is ranked no. 9 (The Times of London, 2007). The campus has a total of 19,000+ students (7,500 graduate students) and 4,000 academic staff in 58 departments. Candidates should have a doctorate in Strategic Management, Organizational Behavior, Operations Research, or related discipline, preferably with a link to innovation, technology management, or entrepreneurship. We value applications from discipline-oriented scholars able to apply theories and methods from, for example, psychology, sociology, economics, or political science. An early career candidate should demonstrate promise of becoming an outstanding scholar in every respect, including research and teaching. For senior candidates, a proven publication record in top international journals and substantial research visibility and impact is expected.

The size of the Department is currently 35, which includes full-time and part-time faculty members and support staff. The Department has significant momentum as reflected in hiring five new faculty members during the past two years from, for example, Stanford, Northwestern, and London Business School. The Department, which recently moved into a dedicated new £11.4 million ($21 million) building, is the UCL partner in the growing strategic alliance between UCL and London Business School, capitalizing on research and educational synergies between these two world-class institutions. Some faculty members hold appointments between UCL and London Business School.
