    Assistant Professor Positions in Organizational Behavior and Entrepreneurship

     

    The <st1:placetype w:st="on">School</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">Economics</st1:placename> and Management (FCEE) at the Catholic University of Portugal (Universidade Católica Portuguesa), in <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:city w:st="on">Lisbon</st1:city>, <st1:country-region w:st="on">Portugal</st1:country-region></st1:place>, invites applications for full-time tenure track Assistant Professor positions in Organizational Behaviour and Entrepreneurship starting September 2007. We are also recruiting for an Assistant Professor in Operations Management. International applicants are welcome for all positions as teaching and research will be conducted in English.

     

    FCEE-Catolica is a leading European institution in the areas of Business and Economics. The school offers several innovative Master's programs, including: MBACatolica, Master in Healthcare Management, Master in Economics, and Master in Finance.     Faculty and Research Environment

     

    FCEE-Catolica provides a vibrant research environment. The core research faculty of FCEE consists of 27 tenure-track members, with doctorates from top institutions, including MIT, NYU, UCLA, <st1:city w:st="on">Chicago</st1:city>, <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:city w:st="on">Columbia</st1:city>, <st1:state w:st="on">Michigan</st1:state></st1:place>, etc.. The school was recently recognized (by the European Economic Association) as the leading Portuguese institution in terms of publications per faculty member. There are numerous joint research projects among members and an active research seminar series.

     

    Tenure-track faculty are expected to maintain a research program targeted at top-tier journals in their field. Catolica provides them with ample support to do so. Salary is competitive, and funding is provided for travel to international conferences. Tenure-track positions involve teaching 3 courses per year in English.

     

    A priority for FCEE-Catolica is the further internationalization of its faculty, student population, and programs. The school was recently accredited by the UK-based Association of MBA's. The accreditation processes for AACSB International and EQUIS are expected to be completed in 2007. In addition, about 15 faculty members from non-Portuguese universities visit annually to teach in the MBA program.

     

    Position Description and Requirements

     

    Successful candidates for tenure-track appointments in Organizational Behaviour will have an interesting and rigorous research program in any area of Organizational Behaviour, Management, Leadership, Human Resources Management, or I/O Psychology. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to target top-tier journals in their field.

     

    Candidates are also welcome from any areas of Operations Management.

     

    Candidates must be ABD, with a clear plan for completion of their PhD by September 1, 2007.
