A friend at the Sloan School at MIT directed me to the Academy of Management listservs so that I could ask for advice with networking to reach leaders who might participate in my doctoral dissertation research study at Harvard. The study explores how mindfulness may help leaders cope with the stresses of leading, and may help catalyze the development of social and emotional skills critical for effective leadership.
I'm writing to you and your colleagues on the Conflict Management Division listserv to ask for your help with networking to reach leaders who might participate in my research
We hope to recruit leaders who meet the following criteria to be participants in the study:
♦ Work in for-profit or not-for-profit organizations
♦ Do and do not have a formal mindfulness practice
♦ Have held a leadership position for at least 5 years
♦ Have at least 3 employees who report directly to them
♦ Have at least 8 employees who work in positions below theirs
Information for those who would consider helping with the outreach to recruit participants can be found on this page of the website:
www.mindfulleadershipstudy.org
www.mindfulleadershipstudy.org/network
There is a brief summary about recruitment for the study, and 2 flyers that can be downloaded for emailing or posting as appropriate.
Any advice and guidance you could provide about the CMDNET listserv or other appropriate avenues for recruiting participants would be greatly appreciated. I would be happy to answer any questions or provide any further information, and can be reached at: mcgarvme@gse.harvard.edu, or 508-224-6187.
Sincerely Yours, Metta McGarvey
