    THE ANNUAL PRACTICE AWARDS

     

    THE AWARDS

    The Practice Theme Committee (PTC) of the Academy of Management announces two prestigious awards: (1) The AOM Practice Impact Award, and (2) the AOM Practitioner Award.

     

    The AOM Practice Impact Award (PIA) seeks to recognize and celebrate an outstanding scholar who has made a major contribution to research and theory in practice based studies, and has had an impact on managerial and organizational practices.  The nominee should have a track record of quality publications (journals and books), and preferably have also published in practitioner journals (e.g. Academy of Management Perspectives) and other practitioner outlets. 

    To nominate an academic who you or your academic institution believe has had a major impact on practice based studies, please email the Chair of the Practice Theme Committee, Associate Professor Tyrone S. Pitsis, at tyrone.pitsis@uts.edu.au, with an outline explaining the reasons for your nomination, and an attachment with the nominee's CV. Please use the following subject line in your email when nominating For the PTC Practice Impact Award "PTC PIA [Name of nominee]" (e.g.  Subject: PTC PIA John B. Anacademic).

     

    The AOM Practitioner Award (PA) recognizes the efforts of a practitioner (leader, manager, employee, consultant or coach), who has incorporated or applied knowledge from the Academy to their practice, and also engages their organization or practice with the Academy through engagement with the academy and its professional publications.

    To nominate a practitioner who you, your organization or your academic institution believe has had a major impact on synthesizing practice and the academy please email the Chair of the Practice Theme Committee Associate Professor Tyrone S. Pitsis, at tyrone.pitsis@uts.edu.au, with an outline explaining the reasons for your nomination, and highlighting how your choice meets the above criteria, along with an attachment of the nominee's CV or a URL link to it .  Please use the following subject line in your email when nominating For the PTC Practitioner Award "PTC PA [Name of nominee]" (e.g.  Subject: PTC PA Jenny Jones).

    2011 NOMINATION PROCESS

    Who is eligible to nominate: Any member (Academic, Professional or Student) of the Academy of Management, this can be done as an individual, a group or as an academic institution seeking to recognize one of their leading academics or practitioner who is contributing to the broader community.

    Who can be nominated: Any academic or practitioner who has advanced theory, research and practice from a practice based studies approach. 

    Period for Nominations: Opens Friday, June 17th; closes Sunday, July 8th, 2011.

    Award recipients will be contacted via email within three weeks of the closing date.
