    If you have completed your doctoral studies in the last five years and have at least one year's experience in a faculty position, join an outstanding group of panelists for the 2013  Conflict Management Division Junior Faculty Research Incubator

    Research in the Fast Lane:  Strategies for Enhancing Research Productivity

    Saturday, August 10, 2013, 9:00 am – 4.00 pm.

    At this day-long workshop, experienced faculty will give share their strategies for undertaking  impactful research, work with participants to develop research collaborations, and will also provide a unique opportunity for participants to gain feedback on their own scholarly work.  The workshop will end with a panel discussion in which presenters offer their tips for becoming highly effective researchers: they will discuss their work habits and how they go about their work  as well as other "life" factors that influence their productivity.

    In the afternoon session, panelists will give junior faculty feedback on a current research project.    Participants need to please submit a 6 – 10 double-spaced page research proposal that includes: a brief abstract, an overview of the research (key research question, theoretical framework, proposed methodology), and the specific issues you would like to discuss with panelists.

    Preapproval of your proposal is required for registration.  Please send research proposals to Mara Olekalns (mara.olekalns@gmail.com) by Friday, 14th June. Once your proposal is approved, we will send the registration code and further information about the registration process. Please note that to ensure a constructive experience, participant numbers for this PDW are limited. Preference will be given to early submissions.

    We have an outstanding group of panelists participating in this PDW: Gerben Van Kleef, Matt Cronin, Jana Raver, Katerina Bezrukova, Peter Kim, Jen Overbeck, and Laurie Weingart.  Please join us in Orlando!

    ****With apologies for cross-listing****

    CM Junior Faculty Research Incubator at AOM Annual Conference
    Bringing Conflict and Leadership Together
    Friday, Aug 5, 2016 from 9:00AM - 4:30PM
    Hilton Anaheim, Catalina 1

    What keeps junior faculty up at night? In some cases, massive amounts
    of caffeine to polish off that last draft. But more generally, the
    biggest challenge is keeping it all together - getting a research
    program up and running that goes beyond your dissertation while
    prepping for classes you have never taught.

    This day-long workshop has two goals. First, we want to bring
    together researchers, focusing on but not limited to those with shared
    interests in leadership and conflict. We especially seek to introduce
    junior faculty to senior colleagues that could help them publish that
    top tier paper or get tenure. Towards this end, experienced faculty
    will reveal strategies for undertaking impactful research, work with
    participants to develop research collaborations, and provide
    participants feedback on their scholarly work. Second, the workshop
    will feature a panel discussion in which presenters will offer their
    tips for becoming highly effective researchers: they will discuss
    their work habits and how they go about their work (e.g., time
    allocation, managing co-authorship relationships, writing blocks, and
    other issues that affect productivity) all while keeping the other
    “life” factors together.

    This workshop is aimed at junior faculty who have completed their
    doctoral studies in the last five years. To ensure a constructive
    experience, space is limited, and pre-registration is required for
    this PDW. To register online, please visit
    https://secure.aom.org/PDWReg/.

    We are very pleased that the following scholars have agreed to participate:

    Leslie A. DeChurch; Georgia Institute of Technology;
    Nir Halevy; Stanford U.;
    Geoffrey J. Leonardelli; U. of Toronto;
    Chester Spell; Rutgers U.;

    Randall S. Peterson; London Business School;
    Sim B. Sitkin; Duke U.;

    Sponsored by CM and OB divisions, the workshop is scheduled for
    Friday, Aug 5 2016 from 9:00AM - 4:30PM at Hilton Anaheim in Catalina
