We are looking for individuals with bachelor or master degree who are passionate about research and interested in spending 4-5 years in one of <st1:place w:st="on">Southeast Asia</st1:place>'s most fascinating cities.  All accepted students receive full tuition and registration fee waivers and a competitive monthly stipend.

The program is designed to prepare students for an academic career in research universities worldwide. The program aims to equip doctoral students with the skills to conduct highly-rigorous research that will be published in our field's top journals.

    The program includes:

    •     Intellectually-stimulating curriculum emphasizing psychological foundations of organisational behaviour and human resources, statistics, and research methods.

    •     Training in research from the very beginning of the program, including research design, data collection, manuscript writing, and navigating the journal review process.

    •     Preparation for and experience in teaching OBHR at the university level.

Our PhD program is intentionally small, allowing very close working and mentoring relationships with OBHR faculty members. Each student will be involved in multiple research projects with multiple faculty members beginning with the first term of study. Through these assignments, students will have ample opportunity to learn the craft of research through hands-on work (research design, data collection, data analysis, manuscript preparation, conference presentation, manuscript publication) in addition to the required PhD coursework.

Our faculty members are productively investigating some of the most interesting questions regarding the human experience in the workplace, using a variety of methods. Areas of research currently include trust, employee creativity, workplace emotions, decision making, work-life imbalance, negotiation and conflict management, leadership, performance appraisal, mindfulness, deviant behaviours, intercultural management, and organizational justice, to name but a few. Our research appears in <st1:placetype w:st="on">Academy</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">Management Journal</st1:placename>, <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placetype w:st="on">Academy</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">Management Review</st1:placename></st1:place>, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Organization Science, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and Personnel Psychology, among others. Our culture is best described as highly collegial, friendly, and informal, and we consider PhD students an integral part of our culture. Perhaps as a result of our welcoming culture, we frequently have famous scholars from all around the world visiting with us, adding vibrancy to our research culture.

Our location in <st1:country-region w:st="on">Singapore</st1:country-region>, a vibrant, cosmopolitan city-state at the crossroads of the many cultures and economies of <st1:place w:st="on">Asia</st1:place>, provides scholars with an opportunity to identify and focus on very interesting, challenging, and globally relevant, managerial issues.
