  • 1.  coding of conflict resolution in natural conversation

    Posted 04-16-2009 13:32
    Greetings:

I am new to this division and so I apologize if this is a question
    that has been asked before.

I am coding natural, fluid team and dyadic conversations for conflict,
and I was wondering if anyone has or knows of an existing coding guide
for conflict resolutions. What types of resolutions would there be,
how do you identify that a resolution has occurred in the course of a
fluid team conversation, etc. At this point, we have a rough guide,
but I'm sure it can be improved by the hard work already done by
    people in the field.

Please send replies to sbfpaletz@gmail.com. I'll combine the responses
into one file and send out to the list.

Thank you very much for your assistance!

    best,

    Susannah Paletz

    Greetings, all:

Unfortunately, no one had an answer to my query below. On the other
hand, a few people sent very warm and encouraging emails. One specific
suggestion included reading the following review of content analysis
    methods, which has been educational:

    Duriau, V. J., Reger, R. K., & Pfarrer, M. D. (2007). Research themes,
data sources, and methodological refinements: A content analysis of
the content analysis literature in organizational studies.
    Organizational Research Methods, 10, 5-34.

Thanks to everyone for your kind words.

    best regards,

    Susannah Paletz
