Division Chair

Laura Rees

Laura Rees is Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior at the College of Business, Oregon State University. She was formerly a faculty member at Queen’s University in Ontario and the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Vanderbilt University. Her research has been published in numerous journals, including the Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Annals, and the Journal of Applied Psychology. She has served in leadership roles in the academy, including as program chair and board of directors member for the International Association for Conflict Management, representative-at-large and on the five-year leadership track, including Division Chair, for the AOM Conflict Management Division, and as a journal editorial review board member. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Michigan and her Bachelor’s degree in economics from Harvard University. Before academia, she was a consultant for The Boston Consulting Group. She also loves puns, good or bad.

Audrey Korsgaard

M. Audrey Korsgaard is the Senior Associate Dean for Research and Academics, and a Professor of Management and Organizational Behavior at the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Rutgers University and both her master’s and doctorate degrees in psychology from New York University. Korsgaard joined the faculty at the University of South Carolina in 1991 and previously served as a Visiting Professor at the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University. Korsgaard teaches doctoral, masters and undergraduate courses in organizational behavior, organizational development and training. Korsgaard’s research centers on trust, prosocial values and organizational justice as explanatory frameworks for understanding interpersonal and intragroup cooperation. She has studied these issues in a variety of work settings, including supervisor-subordinate relationships, investor-entrepreneur relations, work teams and joint ventures. Her work has appeared in the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Applied Psychology and Strategic Management Journal.

Jamie Lyn Perry
Martin J. Whitman School of Management

Jamie Lyn Perry is an Associate Professor of Management at the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University. Her research focuses on how to lead effective organizational teams, with specific interest in work team diversity, power and status structures, and conflict management. Current research explores the temporal effects of diversity, the relationship between diversity and social structures, and insights on how teams can cooperate and collaborate across divisions. Jamie has published research in Personnel Psychology, American Psychologist, Psychological Bulletin and Academy of Management Annals. Her work has garnered international media attention, with coverage from BBC World News, Time Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times, among others. She has received awards for her research from Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and has served on the boards of professional associations such as the Conflict Management Division of the Academy of Management and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Jamie received her PhD in Organizational Behavior and MA in Psychology from Rutgers University. She holds a BS in Psychology and Sociology from University of Houston.

Dejun “Tony” Kong

Dejun “Tony” Kong (Ph.D. in Business Administration, Washington University in St. Louis, USA) is a Full Professor of Organizational Leadership and Information Analytics at the University of Colorado Boulder’s Leeds School of Business. He is a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science. Tony’s research addresses the overarching question: How can we enable people to be more prosocial? Specifically, he does research on trust in various social interactions (e.g., negotiations, leadership, teams, cross-cultural settings, etc.), positive psychology in organizations (e.g., humor, gratitude, passion, authenticity, etc.), and behavioral ethics (moral emotions, prosocial/antisocial behaviors, and diversity/equity/inclusion). He has published over 70 peer-reviewed journal articles. According to Elsevier BV and Stanford University, Tony is a top 2 percentile scientist (based on single years) worldwide. His research has appeared in numerous journals such as Academy of Management JournalAcademy of Management Review, Current Opinion in Psychology, Journal of Applied PsychologyJournal of Business EthicsJournal of Experimental Social PsychologyJournal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Journal of PersonalityOrganizational Behavior and Human Decision ProcessesOrganizational Psychology Review, and Psychological Science. His research has also been highlighted in Harvard Business Review. In 2016, his co-edited book “Leading through Conflict: Into the Fray” was published by Palgrave Macmillan.

Sarah Doyle

Sarah Doyle is an Associate Professor of Management and Organizations at the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management. She earned her Ph.D. from The Ohio State University and her B.A. from Duke University. Sarah’s research examines how organizations navigate the tension between individuals’ pursuit of status and the collective need for collaboration and belonging - a central challenge in group and organizational life. Her work explores how changes in status and interpersonal differences influence conflict and cooperation, how teams manage communication and tension within hierarchies, and how individuals reconcile external expectations with their own status identities. Her research has been published in the Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Academy of Management Discoveries, among others. She has received multiple honors for her scholarship, including the INGroup Early Career Award, the Ascendant Scholar Award from the Western Academy of Management, and the Eller College Dean’s Research Award. Her teaching has been recognized with several awards at both the MBA and undergraduate levels. Sarah currently serves on the editorial boards of the Academy of Management Journal and Academy of Management Discoveries.

Liuba Belkin is an Associate Professor and the Director of the management program at Lehigh University’s College of Business. Broadly defined, her primary research interests focus on individual affective states and emotions in organizational settings. She specifically examines the role of felt and expressed positive emotions in negotiations, work trust relationships and the impact of organizational and societal-level contextual factors on employee and organizational functioning. Her articles have been published in Human Resource ManagementJournal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Management, Journal of Experimental Social PsychologyJournal of International Business Studies, and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, among others. Professor Belkin has also presented her work at major international conferences, such as the Academy of Management (AOM), Academy of International Business (AIB), International Association for Conflict Management (IACM), and Emotions and Work Life (EMONET) and her academic work has repeatedly won best paper awards. She also serves on the editorial board of the Human Relations Journal (FT 50). Professor Belkin’s research received wide press coverage in several leading business and finance media outlets, including, Business Week, Forbes, CNBC, Newsweek, Time, The New York Times, the Boston Globe, The Wall Street Journal, CNN.com, NBCnews.com, Fortune magazine, The Financial Times, Quartz, among others with several radio interviews and TV appearances. She was selected as the Top 50 Undergraduate Business School Professors of 2020 by Poets & Quants and is a recipient of numerous teaching and research awards.

Teodora K. Tomova Shakur

Teodora K. Tomova Shakur is an Assistant Professor in the Management and Leadership department at the Neeley School of Business, Texas Christian University. She studies network favoritism, which she defines as individuals’ tendency to favor their network contacts over equally (or more) competent strangers in organizational decision-making. In her research program, she investigates the core motivations driving individuals to engage in network favoritism and the intended and unintended consequences of such behavior for individuals, organizations, and society at large. She is fascinated by the different forms of network favoritism, including nepotism, cronyism, and employee referrals. Her work also explores the role of gender, age, socio-economic status, and other demographic markers and their impact on individuals’ proclivity to network and engage in network favoritism. Her research has been published in Personnel Psychology, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, and Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, and has been recognized by the Academy of Management (Best Paper Award) and the International Association for Conflict Management (Finalist in IACM 3MT Competition). Her research has received funding from TCU's Research and Creative Activities Fund and NYU’s Center for Global Economy and Business. She received a Ph.D. in Management from New York University and a B.A. in Psychology (Honors) from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to joining Stern, she gained experience in the fields of consulting and Human Resources. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking with her husband and their two dogs, Nutella and Marshmallow, sewing, painting, and playing the piano.

Semin Park

Semin Park is an Assistant Professor in the Management and Organization department at the Smeal College of Business, Penn State University. Her research focuses on relational dynamics within and between teams, employing social network perspectives. Her scholarly work encompasses both theoretical and empirical studies examining the dynamic evolution of member relationships and their implications at the individual, dyadic, team, and multiteam system levels. Park’s research has been published in top-tier academic journals, including the Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Journal of Management. Park earned both a B.A. (Business Administration) and a M.S. in Organizational Behavior & Human Resource Management from the Seoul National University and completed her Ph.D. in Management at the University of Connecticut. Prior to joining Smeal, Park served as an Assistant Professor at the Tippie College of Business in at the University of Iowa.

Maartje Schouten

Maartje Schouten is an Assistant Professor in the Department of People and Organisations of the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University in the Netherlands. Her research focuses on questions related to teams and hierarchy. She is particularly interested in why and how individuals seek influence and come to be seen as influential. Her research has been published in internationally recognized outlets such as the Academy of Management Review, the Journal of Applied Psychology and Organization Science. She has experience teaching in a wide variety of settings and currently teaches courses on Human Resource Management and Negotiations in various programs.  Prior to joining RSM, she held academic appointments at Iowa State University and Michigan State University.

McKenzie Rees is an Associate Professor at the BYU Marriott School of Business, where she joined the faculty in 2021. Her research focuses on the situational factors that encourage employees to engage in behavior that is inconsistent with their own, and the organization’s, values, as well as strategies that organizations and leaders can implement to mitigate such behavior. In recent years, she has focused specifically on modern issues related to diversity, communication, and technology that challenge individuals’ and organizations’ values. Her research and teaching also focus on value-based solutions that can be implemented through communication, leadership, negotiation, relationship building, and perspective changes. McKenzie received her Ph.D. from the University of Utah in 2015. Prior to joining the faculty at BYU, she was at the University of Notre Dame and Southern Methodist University.

Chris Bauman

Chris Bauman is a Professor of Organization & Management at the University of California, Irvine's Paul Merage School of Business. One line of his research focuses on how individuals determine issues of ethics and fairness. This work includes studies of individual decision making, group diversity, and corporate social responsibility. Another line of his research examines information processing in negotiation and its implications for tactics that can increase individual or mutual gains. His research has been published in many journals, including Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes. He previously served as a Representative at Large for the OB division. He currently serves on the editorial boards of Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Journal of Business Ethics, and Journal of Experimental Social Psychology.

Leopold Ried

Leopold Ried is an Assistant Professor in Management at the University of Melbourne. His research examines negotiator behavior and its impact on both commercial and relational outcomes, particularly in professional buyer–supplier contexts. He currently investigates how storytelling, warm communication, relationship types, and AI bots shape negotiation dynamics. His work has been published in both academic and practitioner-oriented outlets, including Harvard Business Review, Journal of Operations Management, Journal of Purchasing and Supply Management, Journal of Supply Chain Management, and Production and Operations Management. He serves as a reviewer for several leading journals and received the Outstanding Reviewer Award from the Journal of Purchasing and Supply Management. Leopold regularly presents at international conferences and presented his research to the United States government in 2024. He has taught across undergraduate and graduate programs, including negotiations, procurement, project management, the management of socio-economic dilemmas, and research methods. Prior to academia, he gained industry experience in Germany, the United Kingdom, Chile, and Italy, including roles in Business Development at Fraunhofer and Procurement at ThyssenKrupp.
